HIRE HIGHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before hiring from Hire Higher Adelaide. By placing an order with us, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these, you must not use our services. Failure to adhere to these Terms and Conditions will result in enforcement action as deemed appropriate by Hire Higher Adelaide.
REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
All items require a $50 refundable security deposit to be paid at checkout. This will be automatically added to your cart. This may be used to cover damages or fees in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. If there are no issues, this will be fully refunded to you upon the item's return (after cleaning).
CANCELLATION POLICY
The following cancellation policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including a change of mind.
If the renter wishes to cancel an order, they must contact Hire Higher Adelaide as soon as possible.
Hire Higher Adelaide does not offer refunds for cancelled orders. However, refundable security deposits will be refunded in full. Cancellations are eligible for store credit only, minus a $20 cancellation fee.
To be eligible for store credit, cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to the hire date.
Credit notes issued due to cancellations are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and will expire if not used within this period. Once a credit note is used to make a new hire booking, this booking is final and not eligible for further changes, cancellations, or additional credit, including where the item does not fit.
Credit notes are non-transferable and may only be used by the original renter.
LATE FEES
If items are not returned to Hire Higher Adelaide by the rental return due date, additional hire fees will apply until the item is returned.
A late fee of $25 per day applies for each day the item is overdue.
For postal hires only, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are not counted toward late fees due to post office closures.
If a garment is not returned within 14 days of the due return date, it will be deemed non-returned. In this instance, the renter will be charged 150% of the full retail price (RRP) of the item in addition to any accrued late fees.
DELIVERY AND RETURNS (POSTAL HIRES)
We use Australia Post’s express service for all renters who require garments to be posted. We provide a tracking number which can be used to track a parcel’s status and estimated delivery date. A fee of $35 is charged for return express delivery, which includes a pre-paid return satchel.
Postal orders are dispatched as far in advance as possible. However, Hire Higher Adelaide is not responsible for postal delays, lost parcels, or delivery issues once items have been lodged with Australia Post.
No refunds will be issued for hire or postage fees due to postal delays, lost parcels, or items not arriving in time. No refunds are provided for items that do not fit upon arrival. By hiring via post, the renter forfeits the opportunity for a try-on and accepts responsibility for sizing.
Items must be lodged over the counter at an Australia Post office (not via post boxes). A photo of the lodgement receipt on the day of posting is required. If an item is lost in transit and no tracking receipt is provided, the renter will be liable for the full replacement cost of the item. If bookings cannot be fulfilled due to the item being damaged, the client will be liable for covering the cost of any pre-existing bookings.
CLEANING/CARE
Standard cleaning is included in the hire fee. Do not wash or clean garments yourself, as incorrect cleaning may cause permanent damage.
Garments returned with excessive staining or odour, as determined by us, may incur additional cleaning fees depending on severity.
We advise clients to be extremely mindful when using fake tan. We recommend applying fake tan at least 2 days prior to the event and ensuring all residue is thoroughly washed off (from 2 showers) prior to wearing the item. Do not use bronzing sprays or instant tan while wearing the garment.
Do not cut, iron, alter, safety-pin, or remove labels or hanging ribbons. Check with us before using double-sided tape.
The renter is liable for all costs associated with repairing or cleaning garments returned damaged or excessively marked.
DAMAGE OR LOSS
If an item is damaged beyond repair or a stain cannot be removed, preventing the item from being re-hired (at our discretion), the client will be responsible for paying the full RRP of the item (including any shipping costs). If one piece of a set is damaged, the RRP of the full set must be covered. If bookings cannot be fulfilled due to the item being damaged, the client will be liable for covering the cost of any pre-existing bookings. Any fees or payments must be made within 48 hours.
It is at the discretion of Hire Higher Adelaide whether a garment is fit to return to hire. Any damaged items that are deemed un-rentable will incur a fee of the full RRP of the garment (including any shipping costs) + any loss of income due future bookings that will be cancelled.
If the garment gets lost or stolen when in the hands of the client, they will be liable to pay for replacement of the item.
QUALITY OF HIRE ITEMS
While Hire Higher Adelaide strives to maintain all garments to a high standard, renters acknowledge and accept that hire garments are not brand new items. Garments available for hire have been worn by previous clients and may show signs of reasonable wear and tear consistent with a rental service.
